Did you know that your body has 650 Muscles always working to keep you moving? Imagine everything your muscles let you do all day long, and now imagine your brain slowly telling your muscles to stop working so that you can’t get through everything you need and love to do on a daily basis. Muscular Dystrophy is a horrific neurological disease which was documented heavily in the 1860′s, when a group of boys reported growing weaker and progressively loosing the ability to walk, leading to an early death. Today there are 9 established types of Muscular Dystrophy, along with symptoms that create an MD-like disease, including loss in intellectual and mental function.

Like many other terrible diseases that plague the human society, there is a constant fight against the perils of MD and an effort to raise funds to find a cure. The Muscular Dystrophy Association is one such fund and awareness-raising organization, and Living Free Home is happy to sponsor the MDA’s upcoming MD Walk this Saturday, March 23rd at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. We will be at a Living Free Home table and hope to see you there, supporting the MDA and fight against MD with hundreds of amazing participants and sponsors! This year marks the 10 year anniversary of our business, and with this accomplishment, we like to take time and remember all of the customers we’ve had the pleasure of meeting and helping over the past decade. We’ve had the opportunity to get to know a lot of different people with unique stories, but my personal favorite are meeting elderly couples who exhibit a true lifetime love story.
